Why do I get compensation?

The European Union regulation (EC) 261/2004 states that you as a passenger is entitled to monetary compensation if your flight is delayed, cancelled or overbooked. This regulation also applies to forms of transportation other than flights, such as buses, trains and ferries. Please get in touch with us if you have any questions or a claim regarding this.

You are eligible for compensation if you have been:

Delay

If your journey is delayed by three or more hours, you (and everyone in your booking) are entitled to a compensation between €250 and €600. This also applies in the case of multi-leg flights operated by the same airline.

You are not entitled to compensation if the airline can prove that the delay was caused by extraordinary circumstances (such as weather, strikes, an emergency or security) that could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken.

European Commission Campaign

Even though the right to travel is a corner-stone principle of the European Union, millions of passengers are still unaware of their rights. The European Commission has therefore initiated an extensive information campaign during 2013-15 which we fully support.
